Illinois State Guidelines specify that a child must reach the age of five on or before September 1st to enroll in kindergarten. For PK 3 enrollment, the child must be at least three years old by September 1st, while for PK 4/5, the minimum age is four years by the same date. Prior to registration completion, all students must submit their physical/health records to the school nurse. This includes a physical examination and necessary immunizations for preschool, kindergarten, and sixth grade, as well as dental exams for kindergarten, second, and sixth grades. Additionally, a vision exam is mandatory before entering kindergarten. Students transferring from out of state must provide updated physical and immunization records. All health records must be submitted before the first day of school.
For students in grades K-8 transferring from another Catholic school, enrollment at Montini Junior High is contingent upon their good academic, behavioral, and financial standing at their previous institution. Junior high students will undergo an interview and a shadow day, and acceptance will be determined on an individual basis.
Transferring students will initially be accepted on a probationary status for the first term.
In adherence to the Rockford Diocese's guidelines, all Catholic schools are committed to admitting students regardless of race, gender, color, national or ethnic origin, in accordance with their educational policies, scholarship and loan programs, and school-administered activities, including athletics. Admission will not be denied due to financial constraints. However, there may be instances, at the principal's discretion, where admission could be declined if a student presents academic, social, or behavioral challenges for which the school lacks sufficient resources. Exceptions to this policy may be reviewed by the principal and/or the pastor.
