I am thrilled to share with you my journey as an educator and my deep-rooted connection with Montini, a place that holds a special place in my heart.
My educational journey began at Eastern Illinois University, where I earned my Bachelor of Science in Education. Fueled by my passion for teaching, I continued my studies at Northern Illinois University, obtaining a Master's degree in Education with a focus on curriculum and instruction.
For the past two decades, I have dedicated myself to shaping young minds and inspiring a love for learning. During this time, I have had the privilege of teaching at various institutions, but it was Montini that became my true professional home. I have spent 14 wonderful years at Montini, a place that feels like a family to me.
Montini has always embraced a shared mission: to nurture students into faithful servants of God and lifelong learners. As a dedicated educator, I find great joy in witnessing the growth and development of my students, not only academically, but also in their character and spiritual journey. At Montini, we genuinely prioritize the best interests of our students, and we view their families as our trusted partners in this journey.
My current position at Montini involves teaching math to students in grades 6 to 8. Additionally, I am involved with Future City, an exciting program that allows students to explore urban planning and design, integrating their math and science skills. My ultimate goal is to help students recognize the importance of mathematics as a fundamental connection to everything they do, empowering them with problem-solving skills that extend beyond the classroom. I am also deeply committed to supporting students in reducing their anxiety around math, fostering an environment that encourages confidence and a positive mindset.
What truly sets Montini apart is the unwavering support and encouragement from the administration. This support enables our staff to adapt our curriculum to meet the needs and interests of our students effectively. We are always open to embracing new methodologies and approaches, constantly striving to make learning a meaningful and enjoyable experience for our students.
As a staff, we believe in collaboration and teamwork, recognizing that we can achieve more when we work together. We share a deep camaraderie with each other and our students, fostering an environment of trust, respect, and fun. Montini is not just a place of work; it's a vibrant community where laughter and learning intertwine.
Outside of my professional life, I am blessed to have a beautiful family. I am married and have two boys who also attended Montini and Marian. My family has been a constant source of support and inspiration throughout my journey as an educator.
In addition to my teaching career, I am an active member of St. Patrick Parish in McHenry. My faith plays a significant role in shaping my approach to education and helping instill our school values, faith, service, and knowledge.
I am truly grateful for the opportunity to be part of the Montini community and to make a positive impact on the lives of my students. Together, we strive to create an inclusive and nurturing learning environment, equipping our students with the skills they need to thrive academically, personally, and spiritually.
I look forward to continuing this incredible journey at Montini and inspiring the next generation of learners.
